Who can say no to the majesty of the Bald Eagle? Certainly not I.  When Georgia Southern University, home of the Eagles, asked HT Creative to throw my hat in the ring for a new marketing campaign there was only one answer to give, “Yes.” I quickly partnered with the creative gurus at Paragon Design Group to put a plan into action. The deliverables consisted of three, :30 television commercials, three, :30 radio commercials and one, 5-minute Admissions Video. After meeting with the prospective clients and presenting a formal pitch to their committee,  HT and Paragon were awarded the account. Our objective was to powerfully convey all that the University offers to prospective undergraduate and graduate students. The creative had to balance academia with intrigue while also showing the University’s immaculate facilities and welcoming charm. Let me just say, these are the opportunities that make me love what I do with newfound purpose.
Work began in August and by September we were on location for 10 days of shooting including one day of aerials from a remote-controlled helicopter. By the end of October, the campaign was complete. This was, in every sense, a team effort. The GSU Marketing Department, specifically Christian, Angela, Suzanne and Kim, were absolutely phenomenal helping us set up what we needed and  sharing their insights to guide the creative. Philip, Andrew and Akash of Paragon Design Group – what can I say? What you do with raw footage is nothing short of “magic” and I remain honored and humbled to collaborate with you. Thanks also goes to Spyhop Productions and their hardworking crew, and Mehmet Caglayan, the visionary behind the camera.
The results can best be summed up by sharing the response of the University’s President upon seeing the finished product, in a word, “Wow” – even better, he said it twice. My hope is that the end results will have you asking the same question we asked ourselves – “Can we be students at Georgia Southern?”
